Underriver Cricket Club - KentUnderriver Cricket Club is one of the oldest in Kent and is thought to have originated from the Underriver House team. The ground is set in one of the most picturesque of locations with an excellent pitch and outfield with its own pavilion.
The Club welcomes players of all standards and ages and new players are always sure of an enthusiastic welcome. It should be mentioned that the home teas are renowned for their excellence! In addition to a full programme of matches, with League games on Saturdays and Friendly games on Sundays, there is usually an annual tour. Social events such as the annual dinner, quiz nights and vice-presidents' lunch are held throughout the season. Since joining the Kent County Village League for the 2011 season the club was quickly promoted through the divisions and will play in Division 3 for the 2022 season against Bidborough, Kemsing, Horsmonden, Betsham, Ightham, Shoreham & Otford, Withyham, West Farleigh & Pembury. For a full programme of League fixtures click on the 'Fixtures & Results' tag at the top of the page. The club's history of playing Sunday Friendly matches dates back to the late 1800s. Legend has it that teams travelled from all over the country to play at 'the best boutique ground under the river.' Our afternoon teas are reportedly the envy of teams from around the county with club treasurer Chris Close proclaiming 'pound for pound these are the best afternoon teas this side of London... and I've had my fair share.' UCC Club Inclusion and Diversity Policy Underriver Cricket Club has recently reaffirmed its commitment to building an inclusive, welcoming club for all people of all backgrounds.
